Wendell loves all kinds of food, but if you give him a red turnip you'll be able to start a complex trading game involving many of the special visitors that come through town. Follow this chart to nab some rare items that are available only through this madcap trading game.

Purchase a red turnip from Joan and plant it in the ground. Dig it up the next day (or in 24 hours) and have it ready to give to Wendell the next time you see him.
Saharah really wants the turban. She'll exchange it for one of two items: if you get the massage chair, talk to Tortimer; Redd is interested in the red vase you can obtain.
If you give Wendell the red turnip, he will give you one of two rare items. If you get the turban, you should keep it for Saharah; If you get the country guitar, give that to K.K. Slider.

Tortimer is a very busy man and deserves a relaxing massage chair. When you see him hosting one of the town events, exchange it with him for the rare scallop seashell.

Carry the scallop around in case you bump into Pascal on the beach. He will trade you the scallop for the golden axe or Pascals Pic. (If he has previously gave you a Pascal Pic before he may not give you another one.)
